the plan

This property was once a farm and most of has been cleared so I figure I might as well start a flower farm.

I have been been growing many vegetables and flowers in recent years so will simply ramp things up.

This year I will have the following transplants available for sale:

Tomatoes – Roma, Scotia, Sun Sugar (June 2026 Sold Out)

Peppers – Pot-a-Peno and Hungarian Cheese

Tulips are a favorite snack for our visiting deer, so they are just for my own vases and I plant them inside my dog fence to keep them safe.

The deer and bunnies have no interest in my garlic patch so I grow that outside the fence.

Outside the fence I’m also expanding and starting new with many deer-resistant flower varieties this year.

Coneflowers

Echinaciea Pow Wow Wild Berry

White Swan

Liatris

Hyacinths

Shasta Daisies

Cut Flowers we hope to have available for sale in August:

Zinnia – Queen Limey Orange / Queen Limey Red / Peruvian Yellow

Sweet Pea – Just Julia

Calendula – Family Circle Mix

Sunflower – Chocolate Cherry

Marigold – Kilimanjaro Vanilla White

Strawflower – Helichrysum Mixture

It’s very unlikely I will have enough flowers this year to many offer fresh-cut flowers for sale but I have booked the Alderney Market just in case I can pull it off. Either way I will have a lot more flowers, and great backgrounds for my photography.

I’ve been planting Perennials and bulbs since I bought the property in 2022 and also inherited a few things. I typically have bloom from February until November and it peaks usually around the Summer Solstice but is a little slow going this Spring 2026.

My favorite cut flowers from the property also end up in a vase on top of my toilet.

Here is a little preview from 2026 will add as things progress.
